EGYPTIAN SOLO: ADULT
Approximately 2:30 - 2:45 minute routine
Enter to any song you wish, any Egyptian style routine including Shaabi, Beledi, Malaya Leff, Mejance, etc.; you may use veil as a prop only for the entrance in the Egyptian or the Malaya Leff as they use a shawl.

New Format: No Rythm Requirements
UNIVERSAL AMERICAN CABARET SOLO, THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE: ADULT
Approximately 2:30 - 2:45 minute routine
Choose your own music!!! Your routine will include fast slow fast, must include a drum solo during some portion of the routine.
Must include Veil during slow portion of the routine.
Must play zils proficiently during some portion of the routine.
*YOU MUST USE VEIL AND PLAY ZILS DURING SOME PORTION OF ROUTINE OR YOU WILL NOT QUALIFY TO WIN THIS CATEGORY!.
Floorwork is welcome, but not mandatory.
* Please, NO OTHER PROPS ALLOWED in this category! (See SPECIALTY CATEGORY for props only). This format does not necessarily dictate a cabaret performance. It also will lend itself to folkloric interpretation.

ALL AGES GROUP, 2 or more
4:30 - 4:45 minutes max.
That means ALL ages...! Kids group, Teen groups, Adult Groups welcome in this category, or combine all ages into one group.
*REMEMBER: this is a belly dancing competition so you must belly dance during some portion of the routine. Everyone must dance during some portion of the routine, and all enter and remain on stage during entire routine. You may have musicians, but they must participate in Choreography. Props welcome. Open to your creative ideas and efforts. There will be 4 finalists.

This category is to show proficiency with ONE PROP in single OR multiple use.
It can include veil (s) (circular, double, rectangular) ; Poi ; Capes ; Isis Wings ; Fans ; Sword (single or double) ; Shamadan ; Tray ; Cane ; Stick, etc.
Can include balancing, flipping quarters, dancing on glasses, etc.
No zils. No finals.

NEW FORMAT: ZILS OF THE UNIVERSE
2:30 to 2:45 minute routine. Not applicable to Hall of Fame.
Open to Percussionists, Dancers, Men, Women, Children of all ages!
1) You must play the supplied (and required) rhythms proficiently, in the order listed, acapella.
- No musical accompaniment
- Required rhythms in order listed below
- 8 counts of 8 each in a moderate tempo
- Must be clean continuous rhythm transitions, with no breaks between the rhythm changes:
- 4/4 beladi
- 6/8 persian
- 8/4 chiftielli
- 9/8 turkish
2) Then you will perform an Acapella Improv with the required rhythms (in no particular order) to create a melodic improv zil piece.
Finish with a melodic improv of above rhythms, in any order, any speed, to show proficiency, lasting approx. 1min

YOU MUST REMAIN ON STAGE DURING YOUR ENTIRE PERFORMANCE!
YOU MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE CATEGORY TO OBTAIN YOUR PRIZE MONEY FROM YOUR PREVIOUS CATEGORY AS WELL AS THE ADDITIONAL CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE $1000 PRIZE.
